Macyn Taylor provided the entertainment at Northern Lights Gallery for First Friday on July 2. Macyn’s popularity continues to grow with fans throughout the area flocking to see her perform. With the cooperating weather the crowds were overwhelming. We try to count the people through the door but last night it was impossible. Great crowd and as usual Macyn entertained to a large group. The highlight was a guy coming out of the crowd and joining Macyn with his harmonica on ” Sweet Home Chicago” sorry we didn’t get his name, would have liked to invite him back.

JUNE FIRST FRIDAY
June is already here and we are ready for another First Friday celebration. Northern Lights Gallery will once again feature the ever popular Macyn Taylor, Friday, June 4. Those of you that have seen Macyn perform know what a great performer she is, those who have not seen her before will be treated to a young lady with the skills of a professional on guitar as well as volcals.
Wright and Like Tour June 4-6
Wright in Wisconsin’s Wright and Like Tour returns to Racine, June 4-6. There are two familiar sites, Wright’s SC Johnson Administration Building and Wingspread, with a few new homes which are new to the tour.
Northern Lights Gallery will be a participant in the tour by displaying the artwork of Lake Geneva Artist Lee Hill. Lees mode of expressionistic painting, developing a three-dimensional assemblage technique that has a mission style resemblance. In addition to various painted elements, her pieces also incorporate the use of glass, metal, handmade papers, and found objects, and she has recently expanded her work to include sculpture as well. Lee refers to her work as “organic art” as she creates it as an echo of the natural world. Her materials consciously reflect the ideas of harmony, balance, and wisdom of preserving our environment.

Sonya Paz
Northern Lights Gallery has had the pleasure of carrying the Sonya Paz Pop Art since 2007. Artist Sonya Paz paintings and vivid images are a reflection of her California roots and her passion and love for life. The passionate expression and creative attitude represent an optimistic view of her world. Upon completing her images, she selectively chooses images which are transferred to her modern art wrist watches. Each watch is limited in editions with a life time guarantee.
The Passionate Survivor Wrist Watch was a design Sonya created after loosing a very close friend to breast cancer. The Organization known as “Mommies with Cancer” an organization founded by Sonya was created to help raise awareness of mothers who have cancer creating a way to get inspired and get involved. A limited edition watch created for this organization limited to 250 to be made and sold.
